Web Conferencing

I click on the link to enter the conference but nothing is happening. What should I do?

Make sure that you don’t have a problem with your internet connection. Make sure that you can access other sites.

After I click on the link to enter the conference, I entered my name and e-mail address into the appropriate boxes and I pressed Join but I am not being transferred into the conference. Why?

Check to see if there is a pop-up message on your screen that might tell you that you need to install a component: in Explorer you need to install ActiveX and in other browsers you need to install Java.

I am using my computer’s speakers or headphones, but I can’t hear anyone in the event. What should I do?

Check the participant window: if the audio conference has been activated by the leader and your audio connection is okay, you will see a headphone icon to the left of your name.
If you see the headphone icon, you are connected properly. Make sure that your volume is high enough: choose the appropriate option from the Audio menu, and then choose Integrated Voice Conference. Then choose the Volume and move the cursor as needed. Make sure that the volume of your speakers is not too low.
If you do not see the headphones icon to the left of your name, then you probably haven’t joined the audio conference yet. Choose the Audio option from the menu and then choose Integrated Voice Conference. If the option Join Conference is active, then you did not join the audio conference. Click on Join Conference and join the audio conference. If the Join Conference option is not active, then the leader has not activated the audio conference yet. If you are the leader, then choose Integrated Voice Conference from the Audio menu and click on Start Conference.
If you have already joined the audio conference and you don’t hear anything, test your audio system using the Speaker/Microphone Audio Test option from the Audio menu. In the test window, click on Test and make sure that you hear the tone.  Move the volume cursor as needed. If you do not hear the tone, make sure that the right sound implements are defined for the program to use.  If necessary, switch the defined audio output.
If you make sure that the audio devices are properly defined and you still don’t hear, make sure that your audio device is properly defined for use by the computer. You can check this in the computer’s Control Panel.
